95 Kings of Fields 5 was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate major held in Eaubonne, Île-de-France from May 24th-25th, 2025.
Tournament summaryEdit
Despite being a major, the top 2 seeds of the event, Sparg0 and Glutonny, chose to play secondaries for the majority of the tournament. Glutonny chose to play Link, and would fall early, losing to Mezcaul and M.Pop0 for 17th, tying several other events as Glutonny's worst performance at a European event, and becoming the first 95 Kings of Fields event where he did not place in the top 4. Conversely, Sparg0 went on to win the event playing primarily Piranha Plant and Pyra/Mythra, only using Cloud against Tarik in Winner Semi-Final. As such, this became the first major won by Piranha Plant, one of the best tournaments for Piranha Plant ever alongside Brood's run at Umebura SP 4, and was the final event Sparg0 needed to become the first North American to complete the Ultimate Triple Crown.
In addition, this event is known for Mezcaul's run to 3rd, where he defeated Glutonny 3-2 and Luugi 3-2. This not only became the first time a Ridley player placed top 8 at a major since Tweek's run at Collision 2019, but was also the highest a Ridley player had placed at a major. Finally, Tarik's run to 4th marks the best major performance for a Greninja player, ending a 3-way tie for the achievement that included him, Lea, and Tsuna at six different events.
